こわいJ-Drama

 

しゅうまつ、えいがをみました。このえいがはにほんのえいが。えいがのなまえはいやしのおとなりさんにはひみつがある。かわいくなかったが、こわかった。すきじゃない。

It is about a salary woman and her “ikemen”* neighbor who she vents to about work and finds his presence relaxing except he has a secret. It is that he’s obsessed with her. It’s more like a horror than a romance. The main character is funny but the love interest she ends up with is horrifying. Most of all, worst of all, the guy of whom I wanted to end up with her ends up with another character and she ends up with creepy love interest who was stalking her for 50% of the series. Granted he learned that what he was doing was bad and had “good” intentions, but his actions were too creepy to look past for me and even when he develops to be a good person in the end, I still hated it. It did not help that I did not think they had much romantic chemistry in the first place. Anyways it was, alright. Some funny moments, some cute moments beyond the romance, and half of it was entertaining. 

*Ikemen is a handsome guy type of guy.

 Liverleaf      For my listening project this weekend, I decided to rewatch a movie that burned itself into my heart. Liverleaf is a movie following the life of Nozaki, a young teenage Tokyoite girl who recently moved into a small rural town because her dad found a job there. Since she moved to this town she and her family gets ruthlessly harassed by her classmates to the point her entire house gets burnt down in a fire started by one of her bullies. At that point, she goes from innocent teenage girl to John Wick on a mission of revenge against the assailants.  SPOILERS TIME      This movie does not shy away from brutality. The police and teachers , as per usual in movies like these, are irrelevant and so useless that the teenagers get to fight each other like it's Battle Royale. DEEP FAKER and DAMN

 Self Intro: 　 はじめまして。わたしはあんです。 だいがくせいのいちねんせいです。わたしはアメリカ人です。どうぞ　よろしくおねがいします。 Japanese media: I watched the music video for a song I like called  変更 or Nisekao. This song is very catchy and was recommended to me by a friend. The song's music video is quite strange and dark, but it's has an interesting style. From what I can tell, the song is about a man's gradual descent into madness, as he goes to the club and gets lost in the heat of the moment, perhaps to avoid something he'd prefer not to face. Highly recommend watching. Click here to watch--> :D I also watched Damn by Fuji Kaze which also seemed to be another man's descent into madness but in a more unreal and less sad way. Damn was more ridiculous (in a fun way) and Fuji Kaze reminded me of Elvis Presley at the start of the music videos. Both these music included English sayings which I found interesting. Why Japanese

Hello, I am Ann and I am a freshman at ND. I chose to study Japanese because I am interested in Japanese movies and media. However some of the Japanese media I could find epic does not have English translations. For example,  Takarazuka Revue is a famous all female theatre company. I have found recordings of their performances on Youtube but alas no english translations. Apparently some of their productions do accommodate overseas fans with English subtitles however I have yet to find an official version with English subtitles online.  I would like to see their shows one day because of their ornate costume design and all female cast, which as a theatre enthusiast, it's very cool to me.  There are also Japanese movies I have yet to find an official translation for, one example would be Tokyo Babylon 1999  So forth the rest. Also I like the Japanese movies and J-Dramas which I was able to watch with English subs such as   Kuragehime and Alice in Borderland....
